Class Schedule

Basic Life Support Provider – For healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR as well as other lifesaving skills in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills. $80 includes textbook. Course length – 4 hours.

A self-paced instruction program for healthcare professionals that uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings.

The AHA HeartCode BLS Blended Learning course is comprised of both an online and a classroom component.  Please note that you will need to register at the AHA site to begin your course.

CNA students must:

  • have Basic Life Support certification (Healthcare Provider-level CPR training) - not included in CNA course or course fee. 
  • proof of a negative 2-step Tuberculosis (TB) Test - available at Public Health and Walk-in Clinics (student must pay out of pocket for this test)
  • 10-panel urine drug screen - available at most urgent/walk-in clinics (student must pay out of pocket for this test)
  • consent to a background check (price included in the CNA course fee)

Additionally, students are responsible for purchasing:

  • Textbook(s) ISBN: 978-0-323-79631-6 Mosby's Essentials for Nursing Assistants
  • Headmaster testing fee of $127 (price is subject to change by the WSBN)
  • WSBN Licensing fee of $120 (price subject to change by the WSBN)

In addition to instruction times, students must complete 16 hours of clinical experience. Clinical experience may occur in a patient/resident setting or in a laboratory setting. 

Students MUST pay in full within 24 hours of attending the Pre-class Meeting.  Any student who has not paid in full within 24 hours of the Pre-class Meeting will be DROPPED from the class and will NOT be eligible for a refund.

This course is a hybrid model containing both online and in-person training. The first date listed represents the date the ONLINE assignments will be released to students.  Students will have 4 weeks to complete the ONLINE assignments prior to the first day of in-person training.  Carefully note the dates and contact Darla Parks at 307-688-6042 with any questions or concerns. 

CNA II students must:

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or GED
  • have a current and unencumbered Wyoming C.N.A. license
  • have completed at least 1,500 hours of documented work as a C.N.A.

Please note the class registration fee does not include the cost of the textbooks; students are personally responsible for obtaining the required textbooks.

Heartsaver CPR AED –Heartsaver CPR AED course teaches CPR, AED and choking knowledge. This program is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs an AHA course completion card. You will learn: adult CPR and AED use, adult choking, child CPR and AED use, child choking, infant CPR and infant choking.CPR instruction includes high-quality compressions, airway management, breathing, and how to use a mask. This video based, Instructor-led course teaches participants critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) takes over. $50 includes textbook. Course length – 2.5 hours.

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED – This course teaches all of the modules of Heartsaver CPR/AED with an additional comprehensive First Aid component. Training includes First Aid Basics, Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies and Environmental Emergencies. $80 includes textbook. Course length – 5 hours.

This course offers the student a basic introduction to phlebotomy skills and will prepare the student to apply for an entry-level job as a phlebotomist in a hospital or clinic.  The student will learn the skills needed to draw a blood specimen from a healthy adult. This course is delivered in a blended model with online coursework, classroom lecture, and a hands-on skills lab.  This course will not prepare the student for National Certification (which is not required in Wyoming).

  • Define the role of the phlebotomist
  • Review the legal responsibilities of phlebotomists
  • Practice basic phlebotomy skills
  • Demonstrate good customer service skills

Target Audience: Potential Phlebotomists, Wellness Technicians

Course fee includes lab fees and materials.

This course is a hybrid model containing both ONLINE and in-person training. Students will have 4 weeks to complete the ONLINE assignments prior to the first day of in-person training. Important Note: 5 hours of self-scheduled clinical time for completion of checklists to be completed within 6 weeks from the last day of course.

Target Audience: Must be a current WY licensed practical nurse or hold temporary license.

Course Information: This class will provide the essentials required to meet the requirements set forth by the Wyoming State Board of Nursing for IV-C certification. Classes must have at least 4 participants.

Course Description: Legal considerations and risk management issues for LPNs in infusion therapy;
Related anatomy and physiology including fluid and electrolytes balance;
Principles of pharmacology as related to infusion therapy;
Infusion equipment and preparation;
Principles and procedures for administration of specified solutions and medications via intravenous route;
Principles and procedures for peripheral VAD and CVAD site maintenance;
Assessment of and appropriate interventions for complications related to infusion therapy;
Demonstration and practice of specified infusion therapy procedures.

This course is a hybrid model containing both online and in-person training. The first date listed represents the date the ONLINE assignments will be released to students. Students will have 6 weeks to complete the ONLINE assignments prior to the first day of in-person training. MA-C students must:

  • have a current and unencumbered Wyoming C.N.A. II license

This is the hands-on portion of the certification ONLY.  The online course MUST be completed before attending this Skills Test.  To purchase the online course, please go to elearning.heart.org.

The course is designed to help 12-16 year olds become more effective babysitters and includes the basics of infant care, infection control, nutrition, safety and first aid. Infant and child CPR is part of the class, but a certification card is not provided. Participants should wear long pants and bring a sweater or jacket for comfort in an air-conditioned room. 

Pre-registration is REQUIRED.

Students should bring a sack lunch.
