Notes: Please note November 17th is when the on-line portion of the class will be assigned and is not a classroom date! The ONLINE portion contains 9 hours of course information. Students will have 4 weeks to complete the ONLINE assignments prior to the first day of in-person training. The first day of in-person training is (December 18, 2025) and will be held at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in the 5th Floor Classroom. This course is a hybrid model containing both ONLINE and in-person training. The first date listed represents the date the ONLINE assignments will be released to students. The ONLINE portion contains 9 hours of course information. Students will have 4 weeks to complete the ONLINE assignments prior to the first day of in-person training. Important Note: 5 hours of self-scheduled clinical time for completion of checklists to be completed within 6 weeks from the last day of course.

Target Audience: Must be a current WY licensed practical nurse or hold temporary license.

Course Information: This class will provide the essentials required to meet the requirements set forth by the Wyoming State Board of Nursing for IV-C certification. Classes must have at least 4 participants.

Course Description: Legal considerations and risk management issues for LPNs in infusion therapy;
Related anatomy and physiology including fluid and electrolytes balance;
Principles of pharmacology as related to infusion therapy;
Infusion equipment and preparation;
Principles and procedures for administration of specified solutions and medications via intravenous route;
Principles and procedures for peripheral VAD and CVAD site maintenance;
Assessment of and appropriate interventions for complications related to infusion therapy;
Demonstration and practice of specified infusion therapy procedures.
